Bridge to Housing is a collective of Lake County Housing Navigators founded in October of 2021 and an affiliate of the Lake County Coalition for the Homeless. Our mission is to foster relationships with Lake County landlords to create mutually beneficial partnerships that work toward ending homelessness. We hold bi-annual events to meet Lake County landlords, property managers, and real estate professionals, explain our programs, and answer questions. You can also advertise your units to our clients’ housing navigators at these events. Our partnerships are very important to us, which is why we are continually looking for ways to protect landlords that work with us. Please read below about the benefits of working with us.

Please email lcbridgetohousing@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Registration is OPEN for our next Lunch, Learn, & Lease! Join us for a complimentary lunch and presentation of the benefits you get when you rent to our tenants. We’ll also have plenty of time for networking with the Housing Providers represented in our Coalition during the resource fair portion of the event.

Landlord Risk Mitigation Fund

The Landlord Risk Mitigation Fund, administered by Community Partners for Affordable Housing, is one of the financial benefits to accepting tenants partnered with a service agency. The Fund provides financial protection in cases where renting to homeless clients results in additional tenancy costs.

Financial Benefits:

  • If a claim is made on the fund, landlords will be eligible for:

    • Damages in excess of the security deposit and a $250 deductible, up to $2250

    • Up to two months of vacancy loss

Eligibility:

  • Any unit leased to a tenant referred through the Coalition’s Coordinated Entry System is eligible. The tenant’s service provider will take photos. Landlords will sign a lease rider.

Market Your Unit

Marketing your units to Coalition Providers is free! Leasing your units to Coordinated Entry clients comes with benefits including:

  • Access to the Landlord Risk Mitigation Fund

  • Ongoing case management for the tenant

  • Reliable monthly rent payments for units

  • The ability to set your own security deposit amounts

  • Third-party inspections

If you’d like to make your units available to Coordinated Entry clients, fill out our form or email and we will get that information out to our partner organizations.

Thank you for partnering with us!
